FITTING OF BRACES 20-90 minutes. The orthodontist will first apply a solution to the teeth to prepare (clean) them for affixing the braces. The braces are applied using a mouthguard-type tray all at one time, for the lower, and then the upper teeth. A light is used to cure (harden) the glue, then the wire is inserted and secured in the braces. Detailed instructions are given for cleaning the braces, optimum comfort and care.
30-45 minutes. Dr Wong will complete oral exam, review at least 2 types of x-rays, discuss diagnosis, treatment plan, time estimates and all-inclusive price (complete treatment and appliances, removal of fixed appliances, fitting of retainer(s) and one year of appointments of active retention). If patient decides to proceed, impressions & photos can be taken at this appointment. (Allow at least 2 days for the fitting of the braces after the impressions are taken.)

When your smile is optimally beautiful! Wires, braces and glue are removed from the teeth. Impressions will be taken for retainer(s). Removable retainers must be picked up that same afternoon to insure optimum stability of the teeth.

20-30 minutes every 5-10 weeks.
Retention Visits:
15 minutes, every 4-12 weeks. Dr Wong may use a permanent (bonded) or clear plastic removable retainer(s).
